But with the help of some tricks I was able to turn on the toolbar in itunes. I noticed right away that adding this music was not at all simple or obvious. (1) I have a large library of media that resides on a network drive for the convenience of sharing throughout the users on the network as well as for simple portability. So while you have likely done a superb job of helping iTunes along I am not going to run any 3rd party scripts. I should state that I am however fundamentally opposed to any software that requires 3rd party fixit scripts to accomplish basic operations that should have been possible through the original software. Rather than rehashing it all I feel I can leverage some of the advice already given and push this thread along on topic. I am not here to praise the Zune and condemn iTunes but rather to try and learn what it is that iTunes expects of me for a harmonious relationship(because it is not obvious from what I have been using). I loved the software player for my zune but alas the hardware and software are dead so I must move on. So I feel a necro-post may not be entirely inappropriate. This thread is currently at the top of the google search list for duplicate files in iTunes. If you want to sort out existing content into your relocated library use my ConsolidateByMoving script to, um, consolidate by moving files instead of copying them.įor tips on getting WMP and iTunes to play nice see this thread.įirst thing first. If you start fresh then just move everything into X:\iTunes\iTunes Media\Music before adding it to iTunes (up to you whether or not you want iTunes in charge or organising the structure i.e. that you want to preserve then it might be better to copy your existing iTunes folder out to X:\iTunes and then use the shift-start iTunes method to connect to it. If you already have a device attached to the current library, or ratings, playlists etc. If you hold down shift as you start iTunes you can create a new empty library at X:\iTunes where X: is your external drive letter. With your media held on an external drive you would probably be better off placing your iTunes Library there too. For example if you have albums already imported into Windows Media Player and sitting in the default folders as \\ then iTunes can create the first set of dupes (although they are unique to iTunes at this point) as \iTunes\iTunes Media\Music\\. Depending on the options involved that can create duplicates. iTunes only offers to "collect" files on the first launch after the initial install. ITunes doesn't monitor your media folders in the way that Windows Media Player does. Manually dedupe before importing or see my DeDuper script for use after the fact.Move new stuff inside the iTunes Media folder before adding it to iTunes or disable the Copy to.
She also discovered that Delos had been downloading guest information in order to potentially one day clone their persons into hosts. The tail end of Westworld season 2 saw Dolores and her fellow hosts bringing down the Delos-owned park from the inside, and murdering many a board member. Image: HBO Incite is not Delos - because the Rehoboam AI might be worse Incite believes we can chart a path to a better future, for you and for our world. The ice poles will melt and the rainforests will be deserts. Wars killed over 108 million people in the 20th century alone.īy the time we reach 2100, the global temperature will be 10 degrees higher. In the past 3,400 years, humanity has been at war 92 percent of the time. From the About page:īy the time you retire, you’ll have switched careers seven times.īy the time you find love, you’ll have been in seven to eight relationships, and had your heart broken twice. The Incite website is also full of utopian logic. In the lead up to the season 3 premiere, HBO unveiled Incite all too appropriately at CES, bringing a faux Development co-chair, who gave a verbose, TED talk-ish speech that played well for the tech journalists in attendance. Incite’s Rehoboam is basically the ultimate guidance counselor. That means controlling everything from their job to when they commute down the 405. Using a high-tech artificial intelligence called Rehoboam, named after the first king of Judah, the executives at Incite program click citizens of the world into the “perfect” path. “If you could chart a course for every single person, you could make the world a better place.” (John Gallagher Jr.) accidentally tells an undercover Dolores in the Westworld premiere. “My dad thought the biggest problem was unrealized potential,” Liam Dempsey Jr. Here’s what fans falling down every ARG rabbit hole already knew about Incite going into the premiere, and what we can glean from episode 1. The Westworld season 3 marketing campaign has been teasing Incite’s power for some time, and episode 1 may only be the tip of the iceberg. The result is influential enough, or at least key enough to the mysterious new plot, that the now park-free Dolores wants to bring the whole thing down. Just as Google wanted to make all knowledge free and accessible, and Facebook hoped to create a central hub of communication and information, the fictional corporation Incite imagines a fully optimized world where each person knows exactly what they should be doing, and how they should be doing it. Westworld season 3 episode 1 takes the original premise of the series, the idea that conscious robot “hosts” in a theme park are stuck on the vile and abusive loops to entertain guests, and applies it to a greater society living the Silicon Valley dream.
